Pretty much one word describes August: Ahhhhhh! I’m still trying to figure out how I feel about August. It’s had its good and its bad. I’ll go ahead and get the bad out of the way. Last week while coming back from a job in Walterboro, we got a call that the ambulance was called to come get my grandmother. She was speaking incomprehensibly and couldn’t move herself. As I sped home, I prepared myself for the worst. It sounded like she had had a stroke. Let me just say that it’s an odd, surreal thing to stand over a loved and watch them writhe and groan, incapable of communicating effectively when you’ve always known them to be capable. The doctors discovered that she had a blood infection from a surgery she had done recently. As she’s received treatments, she’s gotten a lot better, but will have a difficult road of rehab to get through to relearn walking and such. Needless to say, I’ve been doing some back and forth traveling lately.

Now to the better stuff. I filmed a wedding at the beginning of the month and then took off for some family vacation filled with hiking and eating more calories that I burned.

Above is a picture of me gargoyling at Tallulah Gorge. (It’s more awesome than planking).

Here’s a picture of part of Tallulah Gorge.

Nice field/mountain/farm area.

I came across an art center with lots of welded stuff. I got excited since Amy and I want to eventually become awesome welders. So I took plenty of pictures for ideas.

As I mentioned, I ate a lot on vacation. Then I had to try to fit into an old bridesmaid dress for princess bowling. I never quite got into the one I wanted to fit into, but I had a back up plan.

Here I am putting on my bowling shoes, ready to knock down some pins. Instead of princess, I decided to be a queen.

Linnea had a good plan for bowling as a princess.

Here’s the queen with the friendliest Darth Vader she’s ever encountered. And she’s encountered some Darths.

Not long after a fun bowling night, I had a murder mystery to attend. In between those things there was a lot of parsley and stuff.

This picture doesn’t even begin to describe the amount of parsley … so. much. parsley …

The murder mystery was fun. It was a party for a will reading for a very rich man who was … dun dun dun … murdered. But then at the party someone else was … dun dun dun … murdered. I stayed alive and didn’t kill anyone because I wasn’t one of the main characters. I was an accountant on the accounting staff for the murdered millionaire.

Here I am with one of my fellow accountants (aka person with the same role as me).

Here are two cool guys despite what the looks on their faces say about them. Though the one on the right there ended up being the murderer. He killed his dad, his mom and was dating two of his sisters. It was a night of scandal, indeed!

That pretty much wraps it for August as far as I can remember. One can only imagine what September will bring.
