I haven’t posted as many “Sandwiches I’ve Eaten,” not because I haven’t been eating sandwiches, but because I’ve just forgotten. I even have a log of pictures of sandwiches, but just haven’t posted them, so here’s a sandwich from months ago. It’s a turkey and cheese sandwich that I made.
I started with what looks to be Rudi’s Organic bread because it contains little to no corn product and placed my turkey on top.
I used Applegate turkey because it’s natural and doesn’t have all those fillers like corn syrup solids that most deli turkey contains. Yep, that’s right, your deli turkey most likely has corn injected in it unless you get the natural stuff. This meat is a good bit more expensive that your average deli meat, but when you have allergies or just want to make sure you’re not eating crap, it’s worth it.
Then I melted some cheese on top and added some shallots since I had them left over from something else. It’s amazing how a little bit of onion can add so much more depth to a sandwich.
Then I added my lettuce and sprouts. Some people turn their noses up at sprouts, but I love the texture and taste that they add.
Since I added sprouts, I felt it was all right to spread and toast some butter into my bread. After all, butter makes everything better! This sandwich was quite delicious. It was enjoyed by all (me).
