I realized today that we have two weeks or so until Christmas. The big Christmas programs at Shandon (Glorious and The Singing Christmas Tree) are almost over, so now it’s time slide right into Christmas. Things have been rather busy with all the end of the year stuff, but not so busy that no fun has been had. I got to take a short trip to the beach with my mom and aunt the other day. It was a working vacation. I wanted to see the beach, but still had work to do, so I packed the computer and worked with an ocean view.
It wasn’t all nice views though. The hotel room had some distractions …
Shifting gears, when I got home from my trip, I found a wonderful package on my doorstep. You might have heard me talk about the musician Sleeping At Last here before, and you’ve likely heard me talk about the wonderful watercolors (by artist Geoff Benzing) that were used for his year long project called Yearbook. When Sleeping At Last decided to sell prints of the watercolors used for those twelve EPs, I pre-ordered immediately. They’ve arrived and they’re awesome. I even got a nice little note from SAL on the box!
If you’re friends with me on Facebook, you probably know that I’m entered in a poster contest for Brandi Carlile. I don’t often participate in design contests because they are a good bit of work with small chance of any payoff whatsoever, but decided to participate in this one since I went to see Brandi Carlile play a solo acoustic show last month and was quite impressed. Here’s the poster I submitted:
And here’s the green one that I was close to submitting, but went with the other one due to popular vote on facebook:
If you want to help me win the People’s Choice part of the contest, go here and give the poster a vote. Voting closes Dec. 15.
Last, but not least, I’m working on the images for the first aprilnicoleadams.com contest that was held on the last post. I’ve finished the first one and am half way through the second, so be looking out for that. More stuff to come soon!
