By the time mid-October rolls around, Halloween sneaks up and slams you in the face and the Christmas advertisements start coming and make it seem like November never even existed even though we’re right in the middle of it. I know I won’t remember November much. Before I can get through saying, “Oh my goodness, I can’t believe it’s November!” December will be here. Not to even mention the fact that daylight savings time has arrived and seasonal depression rings the door bell with his bags in hand and crashes your house like that old friend with whom you’re not even sure how you became friends, but hey, he’s here and he’s not going anywhere for a while. Oh and he just borrowed your toothbrush because he forgot his; hope you’re ok with that; you’re practically family, so he figured you wouldn’t mind.

Because things get so hectic between end of the year work, church programs and family/friends holiday stuff, I get my Christmas decorating in early. I had my 3rd Annual Decorate April’s House for Christmas the first weekend in November this year. I normally throw my decorating party (why do it yourself when you can just throw a party, eh?) in November, but this year was the earliest I’ve ever done it. I looked at the calendar and realized I wouldn’t have any other weekend after to get the decorating done. I acquired more decorations this year, including some light up, mechanical deer for the front yard. As if Blake had some sort of bug placed on me or my house, he brought a string of shotgun shell lights that went perfectly with the deer. It’s truly a redneck Christmas over here. I whipped up some tasty food for my guest and we “gotrdone” fast. I don’t let my dedicated decorators go unappreciated though. I cooked them some chicken, pancetta and asparagus (pictured in the gallery) with a side of fettuccine alfredo and then we topped it off with some peach cobbler. There’s also a picture of fire in there because I enjoy them so.

Backing things up a bit, I had some tragedies with my computers, including the melting of my MacBook power cord. Then Apple refused to replace the fire hazard for free. I’ll show a picture or two and rant on that later. During my computer problems, I decided to spend more time experimenting in the kitchen with some corn-free recipes. I learned to make my own marshmallows and graham crackers. I have a few pictures of the graham crackers in the gallery. I realized that smores are easier if you pre-melt the chocolate onto the cookie. Genius!

I started writing this post weeks ago. It just goes to show how things go, go, go. I have a few little projects and things to show as soon as I get a chance to pull them together.

Hello just wanted to give you a quick heads up. The words in your post seem to be running off the screen in Chrome. I’m not sure if this is a formatting issue or something to do with browser compatibility but I thought I’d post to let you know. The design look great though! Hope you get the problem solved soon. With havin so much content do you ever run into any issues of plagorism or copyright violation? My blog has a lot of unique content I’ve either authored myself or outsourced but it seems a lot of it is popping it up all over the web without my agreement. Do you know any solutions to help stop content from being stolen? I’d really appreciate it.

Hi – quite great web site you have created. I appreciated reading this writing. I did wish to issue a short review to tell you that the actual design of this web site is very aesthetically delightful. I used to be a graphic designer, today I’m a copy editor in chief for a marketing firm. I’ve always enjoyed playing with information processing systems and ‘m trying to study pc code in my own free time (which there is never sufficient of lol).
