It sounds very far fetched when you first say it out loud. “I believe in a single God who created the world from His own hands, gave man freedom of choice, allowed man to reject Him, stepped down from Heaven to become a mere (perfect) man to live among people who would reject Him (again), allowed Himself to die by the hands of His creation, physically rose from the dead after being buried for three days in order to save any person who enters into a relationship with Him and believes that He is God from living an eternity without Him.” It sounds like the ramblings of a crazy person. It defies human instinct. Yet I believe it all. Though I was raised in a church environment, I don’t believe because someone told me to. I have plenty of friends who were raised in church who no longer believe because all they know is that someone told them to. I believe because I made my faith my own; I believe because the evidence points to my outlandish statement.

I’m well aware that there are still plenty of people who think I’m crazy. They want to see the evidence, so this week we will begin the argument for the extraordinary statement I just made. We’re going to start with Jesus, the man that God became when He stepped down from Heaven. Is it possible for that which seems absurd to actually be Truth? I want you to read this article from CARM.org: http://carm.org/apologetics/evidence-and-answers/extraordinary-claims-require-extraordinary-evidence

This will get you prepared to enter into the discussion of matters of faith and God. I’m putting the finishing touches on the notes for Wednesday’s meeting, so they will be updated either later today or early tomorrow. I hope you’re prepared for this spectacular journey!
